"No one has ever accused me of being an optimist". This is quite true of me. I found it in a book I read, The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris, a book which I read and enjoyed, which discusses the issue of where morals come from, how they can be obtained using science rather than appeal to authority. For a different reason than the author of that book, I too, have never been accused of being an optimist.
